On the modelling of tritium transport phenomena at fluid-structure interfaces

چکیده
Abstract One of the main functions DEMO Breeding Blanket (BB) system is to ensure tritium breeding inside reactor. Tritium a beta emitter radioactive isotope, subjected several processes that determine its permeation across materials and leakage towards environment, posing potential safety issues in terms radiological hazard. Thus, evaluation inventories components losses environment plays key role fulfilment pertinent BB requirements. In this regard, research activity has been carried out, close cooperation between University Palermo Karlsruhe Institute Technology, focussing on development multiphysical model might realistically simulate 3D transport phenomena complex fluid-structure interfaces. Models, source boundary conditions assumed for analyses are herewith reported critically discussed, together with results obtained.
